Scenic and State-of-the-Art

Our campus in Oakwood, Virginia is nestled in the Appalachian Mountains of Southwestern Virginia. The 30,000 square feet of state-of-the-art McGlothlin Hall is the heart of campus, housing research, lab and classroom facilities.

Near the borders of Kentucky and Virginia, our campus is surrounded by the incredible beauty of our region. Students enjoy the low cost of living and incredible outdoor adventures, including hiking, fishing and kayaking that are just minutes from our campus.

Serving Our Community

Giving back to the community is the very foundation of Appalachian College of Pharmacy. Our students benefit from the unique opportunity to directly invest in this mission by completing 150 hours of service through our various pharmacy practice experiences and community outreach programs prior to graduation.

ACP is located in a medically underserved community where students have direct exposure to the role a pharmacist plays in patient care and community health.

Meet the Dean

Dr. Susan L. Mayhew

As the Dean and Chief Academic Officer, Dr. Susan L. Mayhew is
one of ACP’s founding administrators and educators. In addition to
leading the faculty and teaching at ACP, Dr. Mayhew is also active in
state, regional and national pharmacy organizations and serves on the
Southwest Virginia Health Authority Board.
