Learning Comes First
The Appalachian College of Pharmacy, a college of higher education conferring the Doctor of Pharmacy degree, provides academic, scientific, and professional pharmacy education to address the health-related needs of rural and underserved communities, particularly those in Appalachia, through education, service, and scholarship. The philosophy of the College is to cultivate a learning community committed to education, community outreach, and the professional development of pharmacists.
Our Pharmacy Education
At the Appalachian College of Pharmacy, we provide our students with a quality pharmacy education leading to the Doctor of Pharmacy degree. Our three-year program provides substantial monetary savings for our students while maintaining the rigorous standards found in traditional four-year programs.
Degree in 3 Years
The Appalachian College of Pharmacy is the only three-year Doctor of Pharmacy program in the Commonwealth of Virginia. Therefore, our students graduate and enter the workforce one year earlier than graduates from a traditional four-year program and they do so with equivalent classroom hours and clinical training.
$100K Advantage
Our students save one year of tuition and related expenses while earning income one year sooner. A recent analysis of the differences found the overall monetary advantage ACP students derive, when compared with Pharm.D. graduates at other schools, is nearly $100,000 — considered our $100k Advantage.
