Dr. Mamoon Rashid serves the college as Director of International Recruitment for Southern Asia.

Dr. Rashid obtained his Bachelor of Pharmacy (2003) as well as Master degree in Pharmaceutics from the University of Dhaka, Bangladesh. Then he worked in a pharmaceutical company for 18 months and then switched to a Pharmacy school as a lecturer. He finished his PhD in Pharmaceutical Sciences from Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center in Summer of 2013 and joined the Appalachian College of Pharmacy in October 2013.

Dr. Rashid’s research interest includes both drug delivery and molecular biology. His doctoral research work discovered that the endopeptidase neurolysin is associated to stroke pathology, and remains a potential consideration for developing therapeutics. His current projects included development of analytical method of different products compounded in local pharmacies, development of transdermal drug delivery and stability of marketed drug products.

Dr. Rashid has a 3-year Diploma in Information Technology and is a Certified Adobe Captivate Specialist. In his free time, he enjoys graphic designing and playing with technologies pertaining to teaching and learning. His favorite outdoor activities include traveling, hiking and camping with his wife Dr. Mehbuba Rahman.
