Dr. Mohammad Faisal Hossain has been serving at the Appalachian College of Pharmacy (ACP) since 2018. He currently serves as an Assistant Professor of Pharmaceutical Sciences and Assistant Director of Research (PharmD). Since joining ACP, he has been actively involved in pharmacy education, student mentoring, research, and scholarly activities, contributing to the academic and professional development of pharmacy students and the advancement of research at the institution.

He earned his B.Pharm. and M.Pharm. in Clinical Pharmacy and Pharmacology from the University of Dhaka and completed his Ph.D. in Pharmaceutical Sciences from the Department of Pharmaceutical Technology at the University of Dhaka. His doctoral research included an international collaboration with Southwestern Oklahoma State University College of Pharmacy, under the supervision of Professor Dr. A.S.S. Rouf at the University of Dhaka and Professor Dr. M.O.F. Khan at Southwestern Oklahoma State University. During his doctoral training, he received a research scholarship from Unimed & Unihealth Manufacturers Ltd., Bangladesh.

Dr. Hossain was a registered pharmacist in Bangladesh and gained extensive experience in both the pharmaceutical industry and academia before moving to the United States. He held positions in research and development and quality control at Renata Pharmaceuticals and Beximco Pharmaceuticals. At Beximco, he was involved in the development and validation of analytical methods for FDA-regulated Abbreviated New Drug Applications (ANDAs), as well as quality assurance and formulation development activities.  He also worked as a research scholar at Marshall University. His extensive experience in pharmaceutical research, drug development, analytical science, and academia provides him with a practical and multidisciplinary perspective that he brings to his teaching and research.

Dr. Hossain has authored and co-authored numerous peer-reviewed scientific publications, conference abstracts, and scholarly presentations (Google Scholar). His research interests include drug development, pharmaceutics, natural products, pharmacokinetics, and pharmacy education. He also serves as Editor-in-Chief of two student-focused peer-reviewed journals: Journal of Pharmaceutical Compounding and Therapeutics (https://jpcts.com/) and the American Journal of Natural Medicine Facts (https://naturalmedfacts.com/). Through these scholarly platforms, he is committed to promoting scientific communication and mentoring pharmacy students in research and scholarly activities.

At Appalachian College of Pharmacy, Dr. Hossain is actively engaged in teaching, research mentorship, curriculum development, and student development. His goal is to provide pharmacy students with meaningful research and educational experiences while helping them develop the scientific, analytical, and professional skills necessary for successful careers in pharmacy and pharmaceutical sciences.

Outside of his professional activities, Dr. Hossain enjoys traveling, fishing, watching movies, and spending time with his son, family, and friends.
