Dr. M. Faisal Hossain is the Assistant Director of Research (PharmD) and Assistant Professor of Pharmaceutical Sciences at the Appalachian College of Pharmacy, where he plays an integral role in both research and education.
He earned his B.Pharm. and M.Pharm. in Clinical Pharmacy and Pharmacology from the University of Dhaka and completed his Ph.D. in Pharmaceutical Sciences from the Department of Pharmaceutical Technology at Dhaka University. His doctoral research included an international collaboration at Southwestern Oklahoma State University College of Pharmacy, under the supervision of Professor Dr. A.S.S. Rouf (DU) and Professor Dr. M.O.F. Khan (SWOSU). During this period, he received a research scholarship from Unimed & Unihealth Manufacturers Ltd., Bangladesh.
Dr. Hossain is a registered pharmacist in Bangladesh with extensive experience in both the pharmaceutical industry and academia. He held R&D and quality control roles at Renata and Beximco Pharmaceuticals, where he developed and validated analytical methods for FDA-regulated ANDAs. He later worked as a research scholar at Marshall University. With over several years of experience in drug research and development, he brings a well-rounded and practical understanding of the pharmaceutical landscape.
He has also published significant number of conference abstracts and scientific articles in peer reviewed journals and recently launched two peer-reviewed journals for which he serves as Editor-in-Chief: the International Journal of Compounding in Therapeutics (https://jpcts.com/) and the American Journal of Natural Medicine Facts (https://naturalmedfacts.com/). These platforms reflect his commitment to mentoring pharmacy students and promoting research and scholarly communication.
Outside of work, Dr. Hossain enjoys traveling, fishing, watching movies, and spending time with his 4-year-old son and friends.
