Melanie Hibbitts is the Director of Development and Alumni Engagement at the Appalachian College of Pharmacy. She joined ACP in May of 2023.
Melanie is a 1985 graduate of Grundy High School. She received her Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Pikeville in Education in 1987. In 1994, she received her Master of Arts degree in Curriculum and Instruction with a Reading Specialist endorsement from Virginia Tech. She completed her Administration and Supervision endorsement from Salem University in 2004.
She began her career in education in 1988 with the Buchanan County Public School System and served the division for thirty four years as a teacher, principal and superintendent.
Melanie is a Buchanan County native. She is married to Robert Hibbitts and they have one son, Adam. In her spare time, she enjoys reading, walking, biking, running, cooking, baking, traveling and attending sporting events with her family.
Melanie is a member of Vansant Baptist Church where she serves as the Vacation Bible School Director.
