Ted W. Hagen II, D.Min., Ph.D.

Ted Hagen received his B.S. in Physics and Mathematics from East Tennessee State University, D.Min. in Ethics and Counseling from Union Theological Seminary in Virginia, and Ph.D. in Counseling and Educational Psychology, from the University of Georgia. Dr. Hagen completed an Internship in Counseling Psychology at the University of Georgia, Post-doctoral Psychology Internship in Inpatient Psychiatry at Indian Path Pavilion, Kingsport, TN, and AAMFT Approved Supervisor training in Athens, Georgia.

Dr. Hagen brings many years of experience in teaching and administration as well as extensive experience in didactic and experiential research activities at various colleges and universities in the Central Appalachian Region. Dr. Hagen teaches pharmacy communications, pharmacy ethics, and clinical research design, and biostatistics. His areas of research and scholarly interest include the biopsychosocial approach to grief process and the healing factors of interpersonal forgiveness. Dr. Hagen’s practice site is the Blue Ridge Neuroscience Center located in Kingsport, Tennessee.

Dr. Hagen is a member of the American Educational Research Association and the American Association of Colleges of Pharmacy. Dr. Hagen is an Honorably Retired Minister member of Abingdon Presbytery, (PCUSA). Dr. Hagen is a Diplomate with the American Board of Psychological Specialties. Dr. Hagen is a co-author of “Person-to-Person,” a syndicated column with the McClatchy News Service dealing with managing stress in the workplace and the home. Dr. Hagen and his wife Lucie reside in Kingsport, Tennessee.
