Local Author Available to Discuss True Holiday Tale 'Santa of the Lighthouses'

WHAT: From Christmas 1936 to Christmas 1980, Edward Rowe Snow, a high school teacher, rented a pilot and a plane to drop holiday presents for the keepers and their families stationed at some of the most desolate lighthouses on the Eastern seaboard. Local author Bernie Schallehn and co-author John J. Galluzzo have recreated the story of Santa Snow in the holiday novella Santa of the Lighthouses, a work of historical fiction for young and old. Published by Zumaya Publications, Santa of the Lighthouses recounts the adventure and hardship Santa Snow encountered during his 44 years delivering love from above.

WHO: Lead author Bernie Schallehn is a writer of fiction, non-fiction and screenplays. Santa of the Lighthouses is his third novel. Schallehn, the director of counseling services at Albany College of Pharmacy, resides in Voorheesville.
