Practice Experience and Preceptors

The Appalachian College of Pharmacy’s PGY-1 Community Pharmacy Residency program follows longitudinal learning experiences which allow the resident to develop patient relationships throughout the year. Each resident is assigned to an independent community pharmacy where they spend most of the year learning business operations, participate in community outreach, develop lasting relationships with patients and complete a residency research project. Each resident is also assigned to an ambulatory care practice site where they spend one day per week working one on one with patients who have complex disease states.
