Pharmacy Practice Residency with an emphasis in Academia
The Appalachian College of Pharmacy is seeking applicants for a twelve-month pharmacy practice residency position based in Southwest Virginia. The residency is an organized, directed, post-graduate training program that focuses on the practice of pharmaceutical care. The purpose of the residency is to provide educational and training experiences for pharmacists in the fundamentals of contemporary pharmacy practice and to foster skills in leadership, communication, and mentorship. The program will also place emphasis on the science of teaching.
Through various patient care, practice management, pharmacy practice, and academic training segments, the residency instills a philosophy of practice that embraces the concept that pharmacists must be responsible and accountable for optimum drug therapy outcomes and for educating future generations of pharmacists.
Qualified candidates must have a Doctor of Pharmacy degree and be eligible for pharmacy licensure in Virginia.
