Clinical Faculty Position

Assistant / Associate Professor of Pharmacy Practice

The Appalachian College of Pharmacy is seeking a full-time clinical pharmacist for a faculty appointment at the rank of assistant or associate professor.

The successful applicant will mentor students in the experiential curriculum, teach in the integrated didactic curriculum, and establish a clinical pharmacy practice site in Emergency Medicine or Primary Care in a tertiary care facility located in either Roanoke or Salem, Virginia area. 

In the practice site, the successful applicant’s role will include providing medication reconciliation, working collaboratively with health care providers to implement and maintain pharmacy services, participating in the development of medication use management programs, providing patient specific medication education, and pursuing cost effective medication use in the Emergency Department.

Qualified candidates must have a Doctor of Pharmacy degree and be eligible for pharmacy licensure in Virginia.  Successful completion of PGY-1 residency is preferred and completion of a PGY-2 residency in Critical Care or Emergency Medicine is highly desired.
