Dr. Rebecca Cantrell is an Assistant Professor of Pharmacy Practice at the Appalachian College of Pharmacy. She will perform Medication Therapy Management at Tiger Rx in Honaker, Virginia and will serve as a preceptor for the Appalachian College of Pharmacy. Dr. Cantrell is a native of Bristol, Virginia. Upon completing a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology in 2000 from King College in Bristol, Tennessee, Dr. Cantrell received a Doctor of Pharmacy degree in 2003 from Campbell University School of Pharmacy in Buies Creek, North Carolina. Dr. Cantrell worked for 7 years as a community pharmacist with CVS Pharmacy in Durham, North Carolina and in Knoxville, Tennessee. She was awarded both the district and regional CVS Paragon Pharmacist Awards in 2007. As pharmacist manager, she enjoyed working in collaboration with nurse practitioners in Minute Clinic, located inside the CVS store, to increase medication adherence and immunization rates. Currently, Dr. Cantrell is residing in Lebanon, Virginia with her husband, Wil, and their son, Sam.
