Dr. Adam Farmer is an Assistant Professor of Pharmacy Practice at the Appalachian College of Pharmacy. As part of his role at the college, he will be overseeing the integration of the patient simulator into the curriculum and providing Medication Therapy Management (MTM) services at the Mountain Care Center.
Dr. Farmer received his Doctor of Pharmacy degree from the VCU/MCV School of Pharmacy in Richmond, Virginia. He began his professional career as a pharmacist at McFarlane-Hillman Pharmacy, an independently owned pharmacy, in Lebanon, Virginia. While working there, he assisted in the implementation of MTM services and an immunization program.
Dr. Farmer is an active member of the American Pharmacists Association (APhA) and the Virginia Pharmacists Association (VPhA).
Dr. Farmer lives in Council, Virginia with his wife and son. He enjoys devoting time to the Blackford Community Church in Honaker, Virginia, where he is a member and a trustee, and spending time outdoors.
