The Albany College of Pharmacy Alumni Association Committee Descriptions
Executive Committee
The mission of the Executive Committee is to serve as a steering committee
for the Board, working to guide the Alumni Association Board of Directors
in their fulfillment of the by laws. It consists of the officers of
the Alumni Association. The Executive Committee will, as needed, review
committee structure, update committee charges, and appoint committee
chairs. In addition, they will encourage regular communication with
the College's President and Board of Trustees.
The Executive Committee shall prepare and submit written reports for all regular Board meetings and an Annual Report for the Annual Meeting in June.
Development Committee
The mission of the Development Committee is to establish fundraising
goals and activities to increase financial support for ACP. The committee
will work closely with the Office of Advancement and Alumni Affairs
on targeted fundraising efforts.
The Development Committee shall prepare and submit written reports for all regular Board meetings and an Annual Report for the Annual Meeting in June.
Finance Committee
The mission of the Finance Committee is to oversee the Association's
investments, develop and implement ways to increase income to the assets,
and present investment options to the Board. All of this will be done
with the consideration and expertise of the Association's investment
advisor.
The Finance Committee shall prepare and submit written reports for all regular Board meetings and an Annual Report for the Annual Meeting in June.
Nominations/Elections/Awards Committee
The mission of the Nominations/Elections and Awards Committee is to
manage the Board election process, recruit alumni to fill Board vacancies,
and annually recognize outstanding Alumni for their service to the community
and their fields. A minimum of three Alumni Board members shall serve
on this five-member committee. Current officers and Board members up
for reelection are precluded from membership on this committee. Duties
of this committee include:
Annually gathering nominations for the four Alumni
Awards presented, voting on recipients, and assisting in the arrangements
for the awards presentations.
Recruiting potential Board members at election
time, assembling the slate of candidates, tallying votes, submitting
a list of those elected to the Board with a separate list containing
the results to the President for the files, and communicating the
results to the candidates.
The Nominations/Elections/Awards Committee shall prepare and submit written reports for all regular Board meetings and an Annual Report for the Annual Meeting in June.
Reunion Committee
The mission of the Reunion Committee is to organize and plan the annual
Reunion program in conjunction with the Coordinator of Alumni Affairs.
The committee will develop the ideas and guidelines for bringing alumni
back to the College, and to rekindle relationships with the same. The
President Elect shall sit as the Chair of this committee.
The Reunion Committee shall prepare and submit written reports for all regular Board meetings and an Annual Report for the Annual Meeting in June.
