ACP IT director named to
Gateway Higher Education Advisory Council
ALBANY,
N.Y. (January 19, 2007) - Scott F. Rogler, director of technology at Albany
College of Pharmacy, has been named to the Gateway 2007 Higher Education Advisory
Council.
"I am honored to represent ACP on the council and pleased that we have been recognized for our forward-thinking, progressive ideas and commitment to advancement of technology in higher education," said Mr. Rogler.
Director of technology since 2006, Mr. Rogler is responsible for a fully wired and wireless campus that is at the forefront of high-tech advancements in higher education. All of the college's approximately 1,240 students use laptop computers, including state-of-the-art Tablet PC technology that enhances the ability of faculty to share notes and other information with
Mr. Rogler in the Student Center. students. Faculty and staff also employ the college's IT capabilities
in the development of innovative approaches to instructional technology and the delivery of unique academic programs.
Mr. Rogler is responsible for all technical strategy for ACP, including training and resource planning. Prior to joining ACP, he served as director of technology services at Treo Solutions in Albany . Previously, he held a number of positions of increasing responsibility with CHPS Consulting, including manger of information technology.
Gateway Inc. is the third-largest PC company in the United States and among the top 10 worldwide. The council's first meeting will be in San Diego in February.
Founded in 1881, ACP is the oldest pharmacy school in the state and one of the only private independent pharmacy schools in the U.S. The college has a long history of serving its students and health care professionals as one of the premier pharmacy colleges in the nation. The college now enters a new era in health care
with a focus, not only on pharmacy, but also on pharmaceutical sciences, biomedical technology and research.
