Physician assistants play a vital role in the provision of health care services, working interdependently with physicians to provide diagnostic and therapeutic patient care across the spectrum of practice settings and specialties.

Physician assistants take comprehensive patient histories, perform physical exams, assist in surgery, interpret and evaluate diagnostic data, establish treatment plans, write prescriptions in 49 states, counsel and educate patients, and respond to emergency care situations. They are highly sought-after members of the health care team, their jobs as diverse as those of their supervising physicians.

ACP offers this exciting career pathway through our unique partnership with the Albany Medical College Center for Physician Assistant Studies. At ACP, you will earn a Bachelor of Science degree in Biomedical Technology with a concentration in Clinical Laboratory Sciences while preparing for admission into Albany Medical Center's Master's-level Physician Assistant Studies program or other programs throughout the nation.

Qualified applicants for the AMC program will receive concurrent acceptance into both programs. For more information, contact the ACP Office of Admissions at (888) 203-8010.
