As Scene on Campus -- Volume 31
November 13, 2006
The Albert M. White Gymnasium welcomed two major events in consecutive weeks -- the second annual ACP Health Fair, the College's highlight event during American Pharmacists Month, and the annual Career Fair.
Organized by the ACP chapter of the American Pharmacists Association Academy of Student Pharmacists (APhA-ASP), the ACP Health Fair on Tuesday, October 24 featured information and services on a wide array of health issues, including cancer, kidney disease, diabetes, heart disease, osteoporosis, smoking cessation, reflexology and more. The National Kidney Foundation of Northeast New York will offer blood pressure screenings and urinalysis. A flu shot clinic also was provided. ACP would like to thank lead sponsor Brooks/Eckerd Pharmacy, as well as secondary sponsor Walgreens for their support of this terrific event!
Career Fair on Friday, November 3 provided an excellent opportunity for ACP students to learn about a variety of health care careers and to begin forming relationships with prospective employers. It was followed once again on Saturday by Interview Day, an opportunity for graduating students to meet one-on-one with prospective employers.
